How lender and trustee receivables engagements actually work.

Every engagement starts with a real conversation about your portfolio. No automated triage, no template responses.

Receivables left behind in a default or a wind-down are hard to work from the inside. The people who knew the customers are gone, the records are incomplete, and the accounts get older every week. Your job is to turn them into value for the estate or the loan, not to run a collections department.

We start with an evaluation of the book: what is there, what the documentation supports, and what is realistically collectible. From there you have three options. We can bid on the receivables and close a sale, we can recover them on your behalf, or we can split the book, buying the accounts that make sense to sell and working the rest.

Every option comes with reporting you can hand to a court, a committee, or a credit officer. You will know what was collected, what was sold, and why.

When lender and trustee receivables is the right call.

A few signals that suggest this engagement model fits. If most of these are true, we should talk.

  • 01

A borrower defaulted and its receivables are part of your collateral

  • 02

You are administering an estate or receivership with open accounts

  • 03

A business closed and its customer balances still need to be resolved

  • 04

You need a clear value for receivables to report or close out

Structured outreach replaces stalled internal follow-up. Accounts start moving again under disciplined cadence.

03

Resolve

Negotiated settlements, payment plans, or escalation paths, chosen to protect customer relationships where possible.

04

Report

Transparent updates on what recovered, what is still in motion, and what we recommend doing differently next time.

Common questions about lender and trustee receivables.

Pulled straight from the conversations we have with finance leaders most weeks. If your question isn't here, reach out and we'll answer it directly.

  • Yes. We evaluate the receivables, make a bid, and close. We can also recover the accounts on your behalf instead, or combine the two.

  • That is normal in a default or a wind-down. We work from what exists, such as invoices, aging reports, bank records, and customer files, and tell you what the gaps mean for value. Incomplete records lower the price of a sale, they do not rule one out.

  • A sale gives you a known amount quickly, which helps when you need to close an estate or report a value. Collection usually recovers more of the balance but takes longer. We will lay out both and recommend one.

  • No. RecoverMax works commercial, business-to-business receivables only.

  • Account-level reporting on what was collected, what was sold and for how much, and what is still open, in a form you can give to a court, a creditors committee, or your credit team.
